Escalade brake job at the dealer vs a specialist, worth the savings?

Finally got around to dealing with the front brakes on my 2017 Escalade because the steering wheel shake under light braking was starting to feel like I was driving over a cattle grid every time I exited the Marina towards JLT and I honestly thought it was just warped rotors from all the heat cycles but the dealer's initial inspection said pads were at four millimeters and rotors had a lip so they wanted to do the whole front axle for a number that made me actually laugh out loud in the service bay, then I started asking around and a couple of guys in my building mentioned there are independent shops that focus on American stuff and can source OEM grade components without the fancy coffee machine markup so I've been doing a bit of digging on my lunch break and I came across a few references to Cadillac brake pad replacement service specialists that supposedly know the specific quirks of these big trucks like the correct bedding procedure for the semi metallic pads to avoid that groaning noise when you're maneuvering in tight parking structures, anyway I'm leaning towards giving one of them a shot instead of the dealer but I'm curious if anyone else with an Escalade or maybe a CTS has gone the independent route and if the savings were actually worth it or if I'm just going to end up back at the dealer in six months chasing a different vibration.
